Ordering FAQs
How do I order?
To order signage, banners, tradeshow displays or other products from Signs Now Dayton, you can contact us by phone, fax, e-mail or online. You may also stop by our center to consult with one of our trained professionals who will gladly discuss your project needs.
What are the turnaround times for production?
At Signs Now Dayton, we offer a pretty quick turnaround time. Signs and graphics designed to your specification can be completed in just 10 days or less after we receive your order.
Artwork FAQs
In what format do I need to submit my artwork?
All of our guidelines are available in PDF format for you to download.
Can Signs Now produce graphics for me if I supply the images?
Yes! Our experienced design team has the technology available to create digital graphics with maximum impact and minimum effort for you.
Art Specifications
File Sizes
All files need to be setup at 25% of final print size. Files with bleeds need to have a minimum final bleed size of 1/8”. Files created in Photoshop need to be saved at 300 DPI at 25% of actual size.
Artwork Format
Adobe Illustrator: The preferred format for graphics since they allow the greatest flexibility for sizing without loss of quality.
Scanned files: Need to be saved in .eps format, using CMYK color profiles, 300 DPI and 25% of final print size.
Photoshop files: Text need special consideration to ensure clean crisp text. Best options are; save file at higher resolutions, flatten text or rasterize text (preferred).
Indesign files: Require all imbedded artwork or scans to be saved as .eps files at 79-100% of final print size.
Files extensions: .jpeg, .bmp, and .gif files must be at least 150-300 DPI and in CMYK color to be usable for large format output. Images taken from websites WILL NOT work, they have been downsized to maximize quick loading for web viewing.
Photos: Photos taken with a digital camera in most cases need to be at least 5mg and taken at the highest resolution possible for your camera. DO NOT open photos in photo editing programs and change the DPI, this will not improve the actual resolution of the photo.
Proofing
Please provide a .pdf of the final artwork to ensure that the final digital output matches your original file. If color is critical we require you to supply us with either exact PMS colors or a color proof with colors as you expect to see them.
Accepted File Formats
Illustrator CS3 (.ai, .eps, .pdf)
-Convert all fonts to outlines
-Outline all strokes
Photoshop CS3 (.psd, .tif, .eps)
-Save as CMYK
InDesign CS3 (.indd)
-Convert to .eps file.
-Convert all fonts to outlines
-Outline all strokes
-Ensure all images are placed correctly
Acrobat (.pdf)
-Embed all fonts and images upon export
-Set image export to 300 DPI
CorelDRAW (.eps, .ai, .pdf)
-We DO NOT take native .cdr files
-Files must be converted to .eps, .ai, .pdf or .ps file
-Follow the directions as outlined above for
the converted file format you have chosen
Microsoft Office programs: Power Point, Word, Excel, and Publisher files are not designed for large format output and in most cases will not be acceptable for print output.
